Are you the gamechanger we need in electrical engineering? Are you skilled in ECAD software such as EPLAN, with expertise in creating detailed schematics, wiring diagrams and component selection? Then we’re looking for you as an Electrical Design Engineer for #TeamCTRL!
Description
Welcome to CTRL engineering, where we develop innovative, custom high-tech machines for a wide range of industries. From test benches for the electric motors of your future car to vision-guided quality control or an automated dosing system for your Sunday pancakes. No challenge is too big! As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’re our go-to for the electrical design of these machines. From schematics and wiring diagrams to choosing every relay, switch and connector: you make sure the machine gets power where and when it needs it, safely and by the book. You don’t just work at your own desk: electrical design constantly touches on mechanics, software and automation, so you’re always seeking alignment with those disciplines. You also put your design to the test in reality - with a test setup, a cabinet you help wire, or a colleague’s critical eye - because a schematic is only good once the machine actually runs.
What does this mean?
- You develop electrical systems completely from scratch, or build on an existing installation: from brainstorming and conceptualizing to a working system or a successful modification.
- You roll up your sleeves within the electrical team and share your knowledge with the team, including through shared drawing conventions and component libraries.
- Machine safety comes first: you design electrical systems that meet applicable safety standards, and help think through risk analyses and safeguards.
- You’re closely involved in both design and build: you follow how your design ends up in the cabinet and on the machine, and adjust where needed.
- You produce detailed schematics, wiring diagrams and layout drawings, and select the right components - relays, switches, connectors, circuit breakers, ... - often in consultation with partners and suppliers, for each application.
- You keep a close eye on time and budget: deadlines are always just around the corner with us!
Requirements
- Passionate about pushing the boundaries of complex machines where mechanics, software and electrical engineering come together!
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or electromechanics, with a strong foundation in electrical design principles.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for electrical design such as EPLAN, with expertise in creating detailed schematics, wiring diagrams and layout drawings.
- Experience with standards and codes for electrical design, including NEC, IEC and IEEE regulations, with an emphasis on compliance and safety.
- Familiarity with electrical components and materials such as cables, connectors, switches, relays and circuit breakers, and the ability to select them based on project requirements.
- Skilled in integrating control panels, PLCs and instrumentation equipment into electrical systems for automation and process control applications.
- Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting techniques, including circuit analysis, insulation resistance testing and continuity testing.
- You’re eager to integrate your design into the actual machine, bold enough to solve the problems that come with it, and not afraid to measure and diagnose on a cabinet yourself when needed. You’re hands-on and pragmatic, with a solid dose of do-it-yourself mentality.
- You’re flexible and handle pressure well: designing complex machines is fun, but unpredictable, and we work hard, so deadlines are always just around the corner!
- Proficiency in Dutch and English is required, French is a plus.
- You’ll join a team of enthusiastic and passionate colleagues who share your dedication to innovation.
- You’re involved in the design and development of truly unique projects and solutions, from start to finish. Yes, you can be a gamechanger in the field of mechatronics! There’s nothing more exciting than seeing your work in action.
- Access to a broad portfolio of training courses, so you can keep developing.
- The chance to be part of a fast-growing company where you can grow in your field or area of interest.
- A convenient office location close to the highway (E40-E403), the central station and the charming city of Bruges, making for a stimulating work environment!
- An attractive salary package with extra benefits such as meal vouchers, comprehensive insurance, extra vacation days, a company car and our beloved Friday fries tradition.
