Job summary

Adscale Technologies is seeking a Secondary Systems Designer (Electrical Engineering focus) to join a project team led by a Project Manager. You will perform studies related to secondary systems for HV installations, including protection, control, automation, and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage engineering workload; ensure timely documentation delivery.
• Develop protection block diagrams and detailed functional diagrams.
• Review equipment specifications and ensure compliance with standards.
• Participate in FATs and on-site testing; support implementation and commissioning.
• Update as-built drawings and close-out project documentation.

Adscale Tech is a company specializing in technical consultancy and support services in the infrastructure and telecommunications sectors. Our consultants contribute to our partners’ strategic projects by bringing their expertise and technical know-how directly into project teams.

Job Description

As a Secondary Systems Designer, you will be part of a project team led by a Project Manager. You will be responsible for carrying out engineering studies related to secondary systems for High Voltage (HV) installations, including electrical protection, control and command systems, automation, and measurement equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

A. Feasibility and Preliminary Studies

• Assist the Project Manager in defining project requirements and constraints.

B. Engineering and Design Phase

• Plan and manage your engineering workload, setting priorities and ensuring timely delivery of required documentation.


• Develop protection block diagrams and detailed functional and principle diagrams.


• Contribute to the definition and selection of electrical equipment.


• Ensure the quality of engineering studies by specifying equipment that complies with applicable standards and technical requirements.


• Perform quality checks on detailed engineering studies carried out by external contractors.


• Review and verify manufacturers’ documentation.


• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), where required.

C. Implementation and Site Execution

• Monitor Low Voltage (LV) works on-site in collaboration with the Project Manager.


• Maintain regular contact with the plant operator, suppliers, and electrical installation contractors.


• Identify and resolve any design or implementation issues encountered on-site.


• Participate in site meetings, on-site testing, and the commissioning of installations.

D. Project Close-Out

• Ensure that As-Built drawings and diagrams are properly updated.


• Conduct debriefings and feedback sessions on completed LV engineering studies.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, electronics, or automation.


• Good command of Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment.


• Knowledge of French, Dutch, and English is preferred.


• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.


• A strong willingness to learn and develop expertise in a highly technical field.


• Good planning and organizational skills, with a strong focus on accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.
