The Departments of Physics and Chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences are looking for a full-time doctoral scholarship holder in the field of optical readout of molecular spin qubits.

Position
  • You will work actively on the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis in the field of Physics or Chemistry.
  • Within this project you will use a technique called optically detected magnetic resonance to read out molecular spin qubits. You will be in charge of sample preparation and spectroscopic characterisation (absorption, emission spectroscopy) and optically detected magnetic resonance. You will also investigate spin coherence times in these qubits by pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. You will be embedded in a multidisciplinary research group, under the supervision of Prof. S. Cambré and Prof. S. Van Doorslaer (both TSM 2 research group).
  • You will publish scientific articles related to the research project.
  • You will carry out a limited number of teaching and research support tasks for our departments (supervision of practica).
Profile
