Job summary

Atlas Copco Group is seeking a Divisional Sourcing Project Leader to drive cost reductions across international projects while ensuring quality, logistics performance, and technical feasibility. You will manage purchasing and sourcing across multiple entities and product families, reporting to the team leader sourcing.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Engineering, Industrial Sciences, Economics or equivalent through experience.
• 3–5 years of experience as a purchaser or SQA Engineer.
• Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Analytical and data-driven mindset with good negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of production, logistics or supply chain processes; controller/drive or electrical motor knowledge is a plus.
• Professional English communication skills with diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Analyse products, suppliers and market alternatives to identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Translate divisional sourcing strategies into concrete actions across product companies and project teams.
• Lead complex global sourcing projects delivering cost reductions, innovations and synergies.
• Define, communicate and follow up on project schedules, milestones and performance targets.
• Interact with internal stakeholders and external partners to secure resources and align expectations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimize design, production, quality and logistics for total cost of ownership.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration, lean initiatives and share best practices.
• Ensure compliance with BCOP, environmental and safety targets and recommend improvements.
• Report project status, risks, milestones and solutions to support decisions.

Job description

As a Divisional Sourcing Project Leader, your mission is to reduce product cost while ensuring high standards in quality, logistics performance, and technical feasibility. You are responsible for managing purchasing and sourcing activities within international projects across multiple entities, commodities, and product families. You will report to the team leader sourcing.

You will

• analyse products, suppliers, and market alternatives to identify cost optimization opportunities and benchmark sourcing performance against other divisions and competitors.
  
• translate divisional sourcing strategies and purchasing excellence expectations into concrete actions across product companies and project teams.
• lead complex global sourcing projects aimed at delivering cost reductions, innovation and operational synergies across entities.
• define, communicate, and follow up on project schedules, working plans, milestones, and performance targets, including lead times, audits, supply specifications, and cost improvement objectives.
• interact with internal stakeholders and external partners to secure resources, align expectations, and ensure project execution within agreed budget and timing constraints. As global sourcing project leader, you monitor project performance continuously and implement corrective actions when required to maintain progress and efficiency.
• collaborate with suppliers to optimize product design, production processes, quality performance, and logistics efficiency, with the objective of minimizing total cost of ownership. You create an environment in the buyer-supplier relationship that setups for long term success/sustainable growth. You also actively research new suppliers, technologies, and sourcing markets while promoting buy-in across the organization for the qualification of new solutions.
• act as a driver of change within sourcing projects. You facilitate cross-functional and cross-entity collaboration, including lean initiatives, best practice sharing, and methodology improvements. You participate in global meetings related to commodity strategies and sourcing activities, respecting the geographical and cultural diversity of stakeholders.
• ensure within every project compliance with BCOP, environmental, and safety targets while actively contributing ideas to reduce energy consumption and improve working conditions.
• reportproject status, critical path risks, milestones, and proposed solutions to the organization to support decision making and target achievement.

To succeed, you will need

You have 3-5 years of experience, working as a purchaser or SQA Engineer.

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Sciences, Economics, or equivalent through experience
• Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills
• Analytical and data-driven mindset with good negotiation abilities
• Knowledge of production, logistics, or supply chain processes; controller, drive and/or electrical motor process knowledge is a plus
• Professional English communication skills with a feel for diplomacy
