LGM is seeking an experienced Director / Senior Manager – Mining Operations to lead an integrated DSO iron ore mining operation in Cameroon. You will oversee contractor-led mining activities while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production targets along the mine-to-port value chain.

The role requires a degree in mining-related fields and 15+ years in mining with open-pit leadership, plus proven contractor management and stakeholder skills.

• 15+ years in the mining industry with leadership in open-pit operations.
• Proven track record managing mining contractors in contract mining setups.
• Strong operational, technical, commercial, and contract management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead and oversee mining, processing, haulage, and stockpiling activities delivered through contract mining partners.
• Ensure production, cost, quality, and safety targets are achieved.
• Manage contractor performance, contractual compliance, and KPI delivery.
• Oversee mine planning, grade control, ore quality management, and production reporting.
• Promote high standards of Health, Safety, Environmental, and ESG performance.
• Coordinate operational interfaces with logistics, transport, and port operations.
• Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Build and lead a high-performing operations team while maintaining strong governance and stakeholder engagement.

This strategic role will oversee contractor-led mining activities while maintaining operational excellence across the mine-to-port value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mining, processing, haulage, and stockpiling activities delivered through contract mining partners.
• Ensure production, cost, quality, and safety targets are achieved.
• Manage contractor performance, contractual compliance, and KPI delivery.

Desired Profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the mining industry, including leadership roles in open-pit mining operations.
• Proven experience managing mining contractors within a contract mining environment.
• Strong operational, technical, commercial, and contract management capabilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
• Full professional proficiency in English; French is considered a strong advantage
