Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Director, Compound Development Team Leader (CDTL). The CDTL provides leadership to a cross-functional strategic compound development team and leads the development and execution of the compound strategy. Further, the CDTL champions the product/brand at all levels of J&J and is responsible for managing the alignment on communication on all CDT matters, as appropriate.
Candidate is preferred to hold a PhD, MD or M.D./Ph.D with minimum of 8-10 years, Masters with 10-12 years or equivalent experience in a leadership role as a part of a research-driven pharmaceutical company. Experience in leading clinical development programs in the appropriate TA is preferred. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated a solid understanding of and involvement in the entire drug development process. He or she should have proven ability to work cross-functionally with interdisciplinary teams to access and optimize resources for development programs and experience working in a matrix organization. Candidate should be business orientated, having managed resources and budgets with proven record of leading projects trough successful transition from Discovery to Early Development and advancement of projects through preclinical and clinical development to Phase 2b within the therapeutic area. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, and a strong track record of producing results in a matrix-based environment is essential.
Domestic and international travel may be required of approximately 10 - 25% (depending on the compound type and stage of development).
