Faktion is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to deploy, scale, and maintain our apps and platforms. You will build scalable Azure-based solutions, automate CI/CD, and integrate security, observability, and cost control.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in architecture/infrastructure/DevOps, strong IaC experience (Terraform/Bicep), and hands-on Azure DevOps with Docker/Kubernetes. Hybrid work offered in Belgium.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in architecture, infrastructure, DevOps and/or Azure.
• Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep for cloud infra rollout (AWS a plus).
• Hands-on with Azure DevOps and Docker in production.
• Knowledge of security controls, networks, DR and backup strategies.
• Strong observability practices with logging, metrics, tracing (OpenTelemetry) and dashboards.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Responsabilités

• Set up and automate CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for builds, tests and deployments.
• Manage scalable, secure cloud infra on Azure (and AWS in future) using IaC (Terraform/Bicep).
• Containerise and roll out ML and Node services via Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor performance, connectivity and drive reliability improvements.
• Design infra architecture, networks, continuity and disaster recovery.
• Enforce cloud security controls: RBAC, private endpoints, WAF, secret rotation.
• Develop observability: centralized logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, alerting.
• Cost monitoring and optimisation of resources.
• Create documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Proven experience with Node.js services in production, Docker image optimisations.
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls.
• Disaster recovery planning and drills.
• Work independently and take ownership.

Faktion is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help deploy, scale and maintain our projects, apps and platforms.

As an Azure DevOps/Cloud Engineer, you build scalable and future-proof platforms by combining infrastructure, security and automation.

Some key responsibilities:

• Set up and automate CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for builds, tests and deployments

• Manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Azure (and in the future AWS) with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep)

• Containerise and roll out ML services and Node services via Docker and Kubernetes

• Monitor and resolve performance and connectivity issues

• Think about infrastructure architecture, networks, continuity and disaster recovery

• Design and enforce cloud security controls: network segmentation, private endpoints, WAF, RBAC/least privilege, and secret management with automated rotation

• Build and maintain observability: centralised logging, metrics, tracing (OpenTelemetry), dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, and actionable alerting

• Cost monitoring and optimisation of resources

• Make clean documentation/architecture diagrams

• Proven experience managing Node.js services in production, with skills in containerization, Docker image optimisation, and diagnosing performance and memory bottlenecks.

• Networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls, and private networking patterns

• Disaster recovery: backup strategies, restore drills, recovery

• At least 5 years of experience in architecture, infrastructure, DevOps and/or Azure

• Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep for the rollout of cloud infrastructure (AWS experience is a plus)

• Practical experience with Azure DevOps and Docker

• Understanding of the software development lifecycle

• You can work independently and take responsibility

Nice to haves:

• Experience operating data/queue services from an SRE perspective
