Sopra Steria in Belgium is seeking a Data Platform Architect to design modern data platforms, enabling end-to-end data solutions and self-service. You will collaborate with BI, AI experts and client stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable architectures in a cloud context (Databricks, MS Fabric, Snowflake).

Join our Data Foundation practice to build reliable, high-performance data backends and contribute to continuous improvement, governance and security across projects.

Formación

• 7+ years of experience, preferably in consulting, including 3+ years as a data architect.
• Proven expertise in data engineering and cloud technologies.
• Ability to translate business needs into effective data solutions.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, data modeling and integration patterns.
• Experience with data platform migrations (on-premises to cloud).
• Knowledge of governance, security, data management and networking.
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation.
• Cloud certifications are a plus.
• Fluent in English and Dutch or French.

Join our Data & AI team. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team where data engineering, architecture, AI, analytics, governance and visualization come together. Together, we help clients get more value out of their data: from setting up the right data foundations on modern data platforms to building AI applications, dashboards and analytics solutions.

As a Data Platform Architect, you will design and oversee modern data platforms that support end-to-end data solutions and enable self-service.

In close collaboration with other data experts (BI consultants, AI engineers, etc.) and client stakeholders, you will translate business and analytics requirements into scalable, future-proof data architectures. You'll mainly work in a cloud context with platforms like MS Fabric, Databricks and Snowflake.

You will be part of our Data Foundation practice: a team of data engineers and architects, within our Data & AI department. Looking beyond the sleek dashboards and hype-driven AI applications, we make sure that AI and BI initiatives are powered by a reliable and performant back end. Using proven components and best practices, we continuously challenge ourselves to design solutions tailored to our clients' data needs, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Your responsibilities include the following:

• Design and implement modern scalable data platforms with a strong focus on cloud technologies (Databricks, MS Fabric, ...)
• Define target architectures, data platform standards and strategic roadmaps that align with business objectives and data transformation initiatives.
• Assess existing data architectures, identify improvement areas, and propose improvements and migration options.
• Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for both our client and internal teams.
• Support pre-sales activities, lead workshops, draft proposals and share knowledge.

You'll have knowledge and experience of the following:

• 7+ years of experience, preferably in consulting. Including 3+ year as a data architect
• Proven expertise in data engineering and cloud technologies/concepts (lakehouse, warehouse, ETL/ELT, orchestration, CI/CD, SQL, delta lake, OneLake, etc.)
• Ability to translate business needs into effective solutions.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, data modeling and integration patterns.
• Experience with data platform migrations. (e.g. on-premises to cloud)
• Knowledge of governance, security, data management and networking principles.
• Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation and consulting skills.
• Cloud certifications are a plus.
• Proficient in English and Dutch or French.
