Pauwels Consulting in Belgium is actively looking for a Data Engineer to manage end-to-end data processing systems, from real-time field intake to historical platforms. You will ensure stability, security and performance of data flows while developing new integrations to meet business needs.

The role requires 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix, Oracle databases, SQL/PL-SQL, and Python or Shell scripting, plus a degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building data products and complex integrations.
• 5+ years of experience in Linux/Unix system engineering.
• 5+ years of experience managing Oracle databases, including SQL and PL/SQL.
• 5+ years of experience as a system administrator within an ICT infrastructure environment.
• Experience in Data Management.
• Proficient in Python and Shell scripting.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent.
• Proactive with a strong eagerness to learn.

• Manage end-to-end data processing pipelines from real-time field sources to historical data platforms.
• Ensure system stability and performance through regular health checks, upgrades, and security patching.
• Implement data refreshes and maintain high standards for data quality management.
• Develop new data products and integrations with surrounding systems based on business requirements.
• Design and manage infrastructure and database pipelines to facilitate data accessibility for analysts and scientists.

• You possess 5+ years of experience building new data products and complex integrations.
• You have 5+ years of experience in system engineering within Linux and Unix environments.
• You bring 5+ years of experience managing Oracle databases, including SQL and PL/SQL.
• You possess 5+ years of experience as a system administrator within an ICT infrastructure environment.
• You have experience in Data Management.
• You're experienced in scripting with Python and Shell.
• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• You're proactive and demonstrate a strong eagerness to learn.

Nice to Haves

• 2+ years of experience with Apache Cassandra environments.
• Experience with OT SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of ISO27001 standards and a security-oriented mindset.
• Experience working with large-scale, business-critical applications.
• Fluent in Dutch (C2 level).
