Job summary

Pauwels Consulting in Antwerp is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines in a modern cloud data environment, translating reporting needs into robust data models and datasets.

You will implement data integrations from various sources, manage lakehouse and warehouse architectures, monitor data flows, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver end-to-end data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• 3+ years of Python in a data engineering context.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, pipelines, dataflows and notebooks.
• Experience with Azure cloud-based data architectures (lakehouse/warehouse).
• Proficiency in SQL and query optimization.
• Experience with data integration from multiple source systems.
• Fluent Dutch (C2).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines within a modern cloud data environment.
• Implement data integrations from relational databases, APIs, and internal applications.
• Manage lakehouse, warehouse, and medallion architectures with focus on reusability and performance.
• Translate reporting and analysis requirements into clear data models and reliable datasets.
• Monitor and document data flows and processes to ensure data quality and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and architects to deliver data projects end-to-end.
