Keyrus is seeking an experienced Data Architect to shape data foundations for intelligent enterprises in Belgium. You will design scalable, future-proof data architectures and guide strategic technology decisions across Azure and AWS.

You will work with clients to translate business needs into practical data solutions, mentor delivery teams, and contribute to reference architectures while expanding your expertise in data governance and metadata management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data and analytics, including 3+ years as Data Architect or Solution Architect.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures from strategy to implementation.
• Strong data modelling expertise from conceptual to physical design.
• Experience with real-time or event-driven data integration.
• Solid understanding of data governance, MDM, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English; French is a strong asset.

Responsabilités

• Define target-state data architectures across platforms, integration, modelling and consumption layers; establish the roadmap.
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting analytics, reporting and operational use cases.
• Architect modern cloud data platforms on Azure and/or AWS (lakehouse, real-time integration, streaming, hybrid).
• Evaluate key architectural decisions and balance trade-offs (build vs buy, batch vs streaming, centralized vs federated).
• Advise clients with business and IT stakeholders, translating ambitions into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to solution design, client workshops, and RFP responses with sales and practice teams.
• Guide delivery teams by establishing standards and ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Mentor consultants and engineers within the Belgian practice.
• Contribute to evolving reference architectures, methodologies and accelerators.

What You’ll Architect

As a Data Architect, you will shape the data foundations that enable our clients to become truly intelligence-driven organizations. You will design scalable, future-proof data architectures, guide strategic technology decisions, and help clients transform complex business requirements into practical data solutions.

• Define target-state data architectures across platform, integration, modelling, and consumption layers, and establish the roadmap to reach them.
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
• Architect modern cloud data platforms on Azure and/or AWS, including lakehouse, real-time integration, streaming, and hybrid architectures.
• Evaluate and document key architectural decisions, balancing trade-offs such as build versus buy, batch versus streaming, and centralized versus federated approaches.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders, translating strategic ambitions and operational constraints into realistic, scalable solutions.
• Advise clients on data governance, master data management (MDM), metadata management, and data quality, considering both technology and organizational dimensions.
• Contribute to solution design, client workshops, and RFP responses in collaboration with our sales and practice teams.
• Guide delivery teams by establishing architectural standards, reviewing designs, and ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability across projects.
• Mentor consultants and engineers, fostering architectural excellence within the Belgian practice.
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of Keyrus reference architectures, methodologies, and accelerators.

Who You Are

You are a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation and a passion for designing data ecosystems that create business value. You enjoy combining technology, consulting, and stakeholder management, and you are comfortable engaging with both executive decision-makers and technical teams.

You take ownership, communicate complex ideas clearly, and can confidently challenge assumptions while building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.

What You Bring

Qualifications / Experience

• 8+ years of experience in data and analytics, including at least 3 years in a Data Architect or Solution Architect role.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data architectures, from strategy through implementation.
• Strong expertise in data modelling, from conceptual and logical design to physical implementation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and modern data integration patterns, including real-time or event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of data governance, MDM, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both senior business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Professional working proficiency in Dutch and English. French is a strong asset.
• Eligibility to work in Belgium.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory, Purview) and/or AWS (Redshift, Glue, S3)
• Data Platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, SAS Viya
• Data Integration & Engineering: dbt, Kafka, Confluent, CDC tooling, ETL/ELT frameworks
• Governance & Metadata: Collibra and related governance solutions
• Analytics & Visualization: Power BI, Tableau
• Programming & Querying: Python, SQL

We do not expect expertise in every technology listed above. We value deep expertise in a subset, combined with the architectural judgement to evaluate, integrate, and recommend the right technologies for each client context.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI and Generative AI architectures, including RAG patterns, agentic systems, vector databases, MLOps, and LLMOps.
• Previous consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and DAMA-DMBOK.
• Experience with modern data architecture concepts such as Data Mesh, Data Products, Data Virtualization, and Logical Data Warehousing.
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments, hybrid architectures, or large-scale transformation programs.
