ITS Group S.A. seeks a Medior Data Architect to design and evolve a modern Azure-based data platform in a Brussels-based city context. You will contribute to Digital Twin initiatives, IoT and GIS data integration, and implement CI/CD with IaC to deliver scalable, secure data services.

You will define data models (MDM, Data Vault, dimensional), orchestrate ELT/ETL and build semantic layers in Power BI, while guiding architecture reviews and knowledge transfer across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing Azure-based data platforms and Lakehouse architectures.
• Proven ability to define data models (MDM, Data Vault, dimensional) and cataloging
• Hands-on with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Experience with AI/ML integration and MLOps
• Strong governance, security, RBAC, and data quality practices
• Familiarity with IoT, GIS/BIM data and digital twin initiatives
• Proficient in Power BI semantic models and enterprise reporting
• Fluent in French or Dutch, with English professional working proficiency

We are looking for a Medior Data Architect to support the design, implementation, and evolution of a modern Azure-based data platform. The role combines enterprise data architecture, cloud engineering, governance, AI/ML integration, and digital twin initiatives in a Smart City context. The consultant will contribute to the architecture of a large-scale Azure data ecosystem, support the deployment of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code practices, and help deliver data-driven services leveraging IoT, geospatial, BIM, and analytics technologies. The assignment is full-time with a minimum of two days per week on-site in Brussels.

Your missions:

• Design and evolve the Azure Data Architecture used across the organization.
• Contribute to the Digital Twin initiative focused on urban heat island monitoring and analysis.
• Support the implementation and industrialization of CI/CD processes around the Azure Data Platform.
• Define and govern end-to-end data architectures covering ingestion, processing, storage, analytics, AI/ML, and reporting.
• Ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud data platform architectures.
• Establish governance standards and best practices for data management and platform lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and business stakeholders to drive architectural decisions and technology adoption.

Your activities:

• Design Azure-based Lakehouse architectures and modern data platforms.
• Define and implement data models including Medallion, Data Vault, dimensional models, MDM, and EDM frameworks.
• Architect real-time ingestion pipelines for IoT sensor streams and geospatial datasets.
• Integrate heterogeneous data sources such as IoT, BIM, GIS, and open data platforms.
• Design and oversee ELT/ETL processes and orchestration mechanisms.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent technologies.
• Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for platform deployment and promotion across environments.
• Define networking, security, RBAC, private endpoint, VNet, Key Vault, and policy strategies.
• Implement and govern data cataloging, lineage, classification, and quality processes through Microsoft Purview.
• Design and integrate AI/ML capabilities, including model training, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps practices.
• Architect semantic and reporting layers using Power BI or equivalent technologies.
• Lead architecture reviews, technology standards, documentation, and technical debt management.
• Support migrations of critical production platforms while ensuring service continuity.
• Transfer knowledge and coach internal teams on architecture principles and platform operation.
