Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) at SHAPE in Belgium seeks a Child Development employee to support CYS childcare services. Education must be in child development or related fields; combinations of education and experience are acceptable with supervisory experience and the McCormick Credential.

Employees working at least 15 hours per week receive childcare fee discounts. The role involves coordinating group programs for children and youth, applying growth theories in practice, and supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position.
• For Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.
• Option 1: A combination of education and experience; Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or related field, plus appropriate experience; Experience: 12 months in group programs with children/youth with 6 months in a supervisory position and The McCormick Credential.
• Option 2: A combination of education and experience; Education: 24 semester hours ... plus appropriate experience; Experience: At least 12 months in group programs with children/youth with 12 months in supervisory position.

Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week

• First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
• Second and Subsequent Child:25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)

Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience.

Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following:

1. 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position.
2. The McCormick Credential.

Option 2

A combination of education and experience

Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience.

Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following:

1. At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position.
