Job summary

Imec’s Exploratory devices and new materials unit is expanding the R&D activity of quantum technology. We seek a researcher to strengthen the quantum interconnect team, bridging room temperature and cryogenic environments with novel electro-optical devices.

The role involves translating system specs into device designs, testing fabricated devices, mentoring PhDs and master students, and assisting in proposal preparation for funded projects, in a highly collaborative, multinational setting in

Qualifications

• PhD in Electronic Engineering, photonic engineering or applied physics required.
• Strong theoretical and hands-on experience with quantum devices and photonics.
• Ability to translate system requirements to device designs and test plans.
• Experience in project writing and ability to manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Connect system specs of quantum systems to device performance.
• Translate device requirements into fabricable designs and test fabricated devices.
• Assist in proposal writing for funded or bilateral projects.
• Mentor PhDs and master students in development activities.
