Description du poste

We are seeking an experienced Control Engineer with a strong background in automotive and mechatronic systems to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing and guiding our external supplier who provides the Inverter Microcontroller Unit (MCU) software for our Hybrid Dual Clutch Transmission (e-DCT).

While the majority of the embedded software is developed externally, you will assume responsibility for a selected set of critical MCU control functions that we maintain in-house, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality system performance.

What You Will Do
  • Take ownership of the Inverter-MCU Application Software (ASW) used in our hybrid e-DCT.
  • Drive and maintain Control Requirements for the MCU ASW, ensuring clear technical direction and robust supplier follow-up.
  • Develop a limited set of critical MCU functions internally (e.g., anti-oscillation strategy, speed control) and provide validated models to the supplier for integration into the overall MCU embedded software.
  • Manage the controller software releases provided by the supplier, ensuring timely delivery in line with project milestones and expected quality.
  • Lead validation activities together with the supplier and internal stakeholders, including test automation and data analysis.
  • Manage issues related to MCU control systems, including verification, technical discussions, and troubleshooting.
  • Facilitate strong collaboration between internal stakeholders and the supplier to define approaches and plans that balance technical needs, supplier capabilities, and project timelines.
What We Are Looking For
  • Master's Degree or higher in Automotive, Mechatronics, Systems, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry or related fields.
  • Solid background in mechatronic systems, including E/E (electrical/electronic) components and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, UDP, XCP).
  • Good understanding of e-drive systems (electric machine + inverter control).
  • Knowledge of powertrain systems, preferably including hybrid applications.
  • Experience in supplier management to ensure delivery timelines and quality, with proven assertive and clear communication.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong methodology in development and problem-solving.
  • Well-organized with strong analytical capabilities.
  • A true team player with a positive, proactive can-do attitude.
  • Customer-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality solutions.
What We Offer
  • Inclusion in a highly specialized technical environment.
  • Opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects.
  • Professional development and continuous training.
  • Contratto metalmeccanico (National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Metalworking) and compensation commensurate with experience.

The activity will take place at our facility in Sint-Truiden, Belgium.
