Description du poste

Are you interested in European defence and security, and motivated by helping companies navigate the political, regulatory, and funding landscape of the EU and NATO? Do you enjoy turning complex developments into clear advice and practical opportunities for clients? Then you might be our new Consultant.

We are looking for a curious, proactive, and analytically strong colleague who will work with our Brussels team to advise ambitious companies operating at the intersection of politics, funding, and business.

Who we are

Navigate is a growing strategic advisory firm specializing in the defence and security sector. From our offices in Copenhagen and Brussels, we help companies understand political decision-making, identify business opportunities and engage effectively with public authorities and institutions.

We opened our Brussels office in January 2026 to support companies operating in Europe’s rapidly developing defence landscape. Led by our Head of Office, the Brussels operation has gained strong momentum, and we are now expanding the team. This is an opportunity to join at an early stage and help shape the development of Navigate in Brussels.

Our Brussels team advises clients on EU and NATO affairs, European defence programmes and national defence markets. Our work spans policy intelligence and opportunity identification, strategic advocacy and stakeholder engagement, as well as guidance on European funding programmes, consortium building and proposals.

Navigate combines the specialist expertise and close collaboration of a focused advisory firm with an international outlook and ambitious plans for growth. We are committed to delivering clear, fact-based and trusted advice that contributes to a safer and more resilient society.

Just as importantly, Navigate is a place where you can be yourself. Our culture is built on integrity, inclusiveness, expertise and mutual respect. We share knowledge, speak candidly and support one another in delivering exceptional results for our clients.

What will you be working on?

As Consultant, you will contribute across our reporting, advocacy, and grants work. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Brussels and Copenhagen and be given responsibility from your first day, with guidance and support from senior colleagues. Your tasks will include:

  • Monitoring EU and NATO defence-policy, capability, industrial, procurement, and funding developments
  • Preparing concise policy briefings, programme trackers, opportunity assessments, stakeholder maps, presentations, and meeting notes
  • Analysing calls, policy papers, and other institutional or regulatory documents
  • Supporting advocacy strategies, stakeholder outreach, client meetings, and engagement with EU institutions, NATO stakeholders, national delegations, Ministries of Defence, and industry
  • Contributing to funding proposals, including narrative development, quality assurance, consortium building, and partner identification
  • Coordinating contributions and deadlines and supporting the practical delivery of high-quality client work.
Who are you?

We imagine that you have approximately one to three years of relevant professional experience. A substantial traineeship or young professional role in an EU institution, NATO, a national administration, the defence sector, a trade association, think tank, or specialist consultancy may count toward this experience. A relevant master's degree is required, for example in European studies, political science, security or defence studies, law, economics, public policy, business, engineering, or another field relevant to the role.

What matters most is that you:

  • Have practical exposure to the EU or NATO defence and security environment and strong policy awareness: you follow political priorities and understand how they shape decisions, programmes, and opportunities
  • Research carefully, validate sources, check your work, and combine analytical rigor with commercial awareness to turn complex information into clear, actionable advice for clients
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential or politically sensitive information
  • Are structured, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines without losing attention to detail
  • Enjoy taking responsibility and can work independently while being a generous team player who seeks and acts on feedback
  • Are adaptable and hands-on - willing to move between analysis, drafting, stakeholder work, proposals, presentations, and practical coordination
  • Are professionally fluent in English and proficient in MS office

Experience with EU defence funding or proposal writing, an additional European language, and an existing network in the Brussels defence-policy community are advantages, but not requirements.

The role is based at our office in Brussels' EU district and involves occasional travel within Europe, including to our Copenhagen office. You must be eligible to work in Belgium. The indicative starting date is 1 November 2026.

A meaningful consulting role

At Navigate, you will contribute to work that creates real value for our clients and supports a safer and more resilient society. Your analysis and advice will help companies navigate complex European frameworks, engage with public decision-makers and turn political developments into concrete opportunities.

You will work closely with experienced advisors and gain direct exposure to leading defence companies, European institutions, NATO and national stakeholders. From the outset, you will take responsibility for client-facing work and contribute your own perspectives and ideas.

We offer a high degree of responsibility and freedom, strong professional standards and a collaborative, cross-European working environment. You will receive onboarding in both Brussels and Copenhagen, role-specific training and the opportunity to expand your responsibilities as Navigate and our Brussels office continue to grow.

Our flat hierarchy gives you direct access to experienced colleagues and allows you to make a visible contribution from day one. Your work will be grounded in clarity, sound judgement and a strong analytical approach.
