KBC Bank & Verzekering in Belgium seeks a Compliance Advisor to contribute to data protection and AI strategy. Working with the Data & Consumer Protection & AI team of Group Compliance, you will help lead data protection efforts and collaborate with internal business partners.

You will monitor legislation, advise on implementations, and support training and policy development. The role combines advisory duties with project management in a dynamic, multilingual setting.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of practical experience in data and privacy protection.
• Experience in a customer-oriented environment within Data Protection Compliance is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of the AI Act.
• Master's degree in law, economics or IT.
• Strong English communication; proficiency in French or Dutch.
• Able to lead projects and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Proactive, independent worker who can also thrive in a team.

Responsabilités

• Monitor relevant legislation and developments regarding data privacy and the AI Act.
• Advise on implementation within KBC and monitor compliance across activities.
• Advise on new products from a data protection and AI perspective, incl. DPIA, Balancing Test and Transfer Impact Assessments.
• Support commercial line management in improving employee awareness and assist in training on data protection and AI.
• Develop and revise internal policies and compliance processes.
• Design compliance and business processes with privacy considerations.
• Manage small to medium-sized projects from coordination of tasks to presenting results.

We treat our customers’ data respectfully, and we do this in line with all regulations concerning data and privacy protection. As a Compliance Advisor, you will contribute to this goal. Together with your colleagues in the team of Data & Consumer Protection & AI of Group Compliance, you will help KBC lead the way when it comes to data protection, in close cooperation with our internal business partners.

What do we expect from you?

• You will monitor relevant legislation and new developments regarding the processing of personal data, privacy laws and the AI Act.
• You will advise on implementation within KBC and monitor compliance across KBC’s activities.
• You will advise on new products and activities from a data protection and AI perspective, including advising on the implementation of Data Protection Impact Assessments, Balancing Test, Transfer Impact Assessments, etc.
• You will support commercial line management in improving employee awareness and assist in the development of training programmes on data protection and AI.
• You will develop internal policies and revise them where necessary.
• You will help designing compliance processes and business processes when it comes to including compliance aspects.
• You will manage small to medium-sized projects from the coordination of different tasks and people to the presentation of different results.

What can we offer you?

• You have good knowledge of privacy regulations and have three to five years of practical experience in data and privacy protection. Experience in a customer-oriented/client-facing environment or domain, more specifically within the field of Compliance Data Protection, is an asset.
• You have at least basic knowledge of the AI act.
• You have a master's degree in a field such as law, economics or IT.
• You are highly driven and fully committed.
• You have experience in managing projects from start to end.
• You have strong critical thinking and analytical skills, you can think outside the box and you take a solution-oriented approach.
• You can communicate clearly in English, and either French or Dutch.
