Position Description

As a Commis de Cuisine at the Corinthia in Brussels, you will play a vital role in the preparation of the exquisite dishes of our establishment. With 2‑star Executive Chef David Martin at the helm, we need passionate individuals who have a desire to grow within our business and help us achieve our aspirations for the Palais Royal Restaurant.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of ingredients and execution of dishes, including setting up garnishes and transforming food products.
  • Regular maintenance of the workstation, adhering to HACCP hygiene standards.
  • Assist in daily kitchen operations and support senior culinary staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Health & Safety
  • Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as stipulated by the Health and Safety Act and applicable workplace policies.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company.
  • Report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to hotel procedure.
  • Report any accidents to staff, guests or visitors immediately in accordance with correct procedures.
  • Attend statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning: Fire, Health and Safety; regulations such as COHSS in the European Union related to the control of substances hazardous to health; risk assessments for your department; hotel fire & bomb procedures.
Other Information
  • As the hotel’s level of business varies considerably, there is a need for flexibility in attitude, approach and working hours.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities of a broadly comparable nature may be added on a temporary or permanent basis as appropriate.
Talent Profile

Experience: Proven experience as a Commis or similar role, preferably within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of culinary techniques, including food preparation, plating and banquet service.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of culinary excellence.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with HACCP standards and a demonstrated commitment to food safety and hygiene.
