MSIG Europe is seeking a Claims Handler in Antwerp for a hybrid role. You will assess and manage marine and related insurance claims from notification to settlement, applying policy terms and regulatory requirements with sound judgement.

You will join an experienced team, handle a varied portfolio, communicate clearly with customers and brokers, and develop deeper technical expertise in a specialist marine claims environment.

Responsabilités

• Handle insurance claims efficiently and professionally from first notification through to settlement.
• Review policy coverage, liability and damages in line with policy terms, internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, brokers, experts and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.
• Manage your own portfolio of claims, ensuring timely follow-up, clear ownership and accurate documentation.
• Support the resolution of more complex claims, drawing on the knowledge and experience within the wider team when needed.
• Analyse claim circumstances, identify issues that may affect outcomes and escape where appropriate.
• Apply sound judgement when assessing coverage, liability, damages and settlement options.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to find practical and fair solutions.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal requirements.
• Maintain accurate claim records and clear documentation of decisions.

About the Role

Not every claim fits neatly into a process flow.

That is why we are looking for a Claims Handler who can combine technical understanding with sound judgement and common sense.

Someone who understands policies, procedures and coverage, but also recognises that good claims handling is ultimately about making balanced decisions, treating people fairly and finding practical, well-reasoned solutions.

This role is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to develop deeper technical expertise within a specialist marine claims environment.

You may already have experience in cargo, marine, logistics, transport or another claims-related area, and be looking for a broader, more complex role where you can continue to grow.

You will not be expected to figure everything out on your own. You will join an experienced and collaborative team that shares knowledge, challenges thinking constructively and supports each other when dealing with more complex or sensitive claims.
