Job summary

EMW, Inc. in Mons, Belgium, seeks a Chief Technician (Virtual Infrastructure) to lead the administration and hardening of IaaS platforms across on-premises, private and public clouds.

The role covers lifecycle management, incident response, change control, documentation, and coordination with SAO/SDMs, with NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET clearance and travel to SHAPE, Mons, Brussels, and The Hague.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET clearance.
• 4 years post-related experience with higher vocational training or 6 years post-related experience with secondary qualification.
• Experience with both on-premises and cloud technologies (public & private).
• Familiarity with IaaS operations: physical/virtual servers, VMware, storage.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows OS (Active Directory, patching, hardening).
• Ability to design/maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee seamless operation of NISC IaaS across on-premises, private clouds, and public clouds.
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolutions.
• Follow change management; update CMDB after changes.
• Advise SAO/SDMs across the capability lifecycle; coordinate with IaaS management.
• Monitor SLAs; help develop SOPs and SOIs for IaaS services.
• Prepare reports and briefings for senior management during projects.
• Be available for on-call and travel to multiple locations as required.
