Job summary
The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) invites applications for a Technical Expert CAD/CAM. This full-time role supports design, manufacturing, and metrology for advanced optical components within the Brussels Photonics Team (B-PHOT).

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Technological Engineering/Engineering Sciences with relevant specializations.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software environments and willingness to learn new tools.
- Experience with CNC machining is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication in English and/or Dutch.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and optimize design files for optical, mechanical, and opto-mechanical components.
- Operate advanced fabrication technologies including 5-axis milling and diamond machining.
- Support fabrication and prototyping of high-precision components.
- Assist with characterization and quality control using metrology equipment in the cleanroom.
- Contribute to continuous optimization of fabrication and characterization workflows.
