Job summary

EMW, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer (IDAM) to join our on-site team in Belgium (Braine-l'Alleud).

This high-security role requires active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET clearance and a strong background in Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Identity Manager, and AD FS. You will install, operate, and maintain directory services, drive IAM projects, and collaborate with development, operations and security teams to enforce best practices and disaster recovery procedures.

Qualifications

• Active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET clearance is required.
• Minimum 10 years in an Enterprise IT IAM environment.
• Experience installing and maintaining Directory Synchronisation Services.
• Extensive experience with Active Directory and Federation Services in large multi-forest environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), focusing on the Synchronisation Engine.
• Strong scripting skills in C#, PowerShell, VBScript.

Responsibilities

• Support NATO Exercises as required.
• Diagnose and resolve complex IAM issues; focus on MIM Synchronisation Engine.
• Install and operate AD FS and Directory Services and MIM.
• Collaborate with development, operations and security teams to implement IAM best practices.
• Incident management—address customer-reported issues.
• Root-cause analysis for problems and ongoing improvements.
• Develop new MIM Management Agent rules as needed.
• Contribute to maintenance planning and disaster recovery procedures.
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for routine admin tasks.

Duties & Role:

Under the direction of Service Delivery Manager of Enterprise Identity and Access Management (EIDAM), the engineer will perform duties such as the following:

• Supports NATO Exercises as required
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Identity Management, with focus on MIM synchronization engine
• Responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance and central administration of Active Directory Federation Services and Directory Services and Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a collaborative environment and provide guidance on Identity and Access Management & Directory Synchronization best practices
• Incident Management – fix issues reported by Customers
• Problem Management – root cause analysis
• Development of new MIM Management Agent rules as required
• Provide solutions for Continuous Service Improvements
• Provides technical expertise to enable the correct execution of operational procedures
• Contributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance, configuration and installation tasks for the operational Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services environments
• Implements disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity for all managed Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services environments
• Develops & maintains Standard Operating Procedures for routine system administration tasks

Specific Working Conditions:

Some work outside normal office hours may be required. Up to 50 TDY within Belgium per year.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• The candidate must have a currently active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET security clearance
• Graduate degree in Computer and Information Systems Technology or an equivalent level of qualification or professional accreditation by a related engineering institute or professional body.
• Experience in an information technology (IT) assignment, with focus in Identity and Access Management.
• Minimum 10 years of experience of working in an Enterprise environment installing and maintaining Directory Synchronisation Services
• Minimum 10 years expertise in implementation and maintenance activities of Active Directory and Federation Services in large enterprise environments consisting of multiple interconnected and federated Active Directory Domains and Forests
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), with particular emphasis on the Synchronisation Engine in a large multi-forest environment
• Experience with Global Address List synchronization across different domains
• Experience in implementing configuration and security settings through AD Group Policies and troubleshooting related incidents.
• Experience of Implementing DNS configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience in creating and implementing gMSA accounts and troubleshooting related incidents.
• Programming experience in C#, Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript
• Experience in maintaining Microsoft Active Directory in large multi-forest environments
• Experience in operating systems such as Windows 2016/2019/2022/2025
• Experience with software life-cycle activities
• Experience in supporting and advising SMEs (Subject matter experts) and Project Managers during all stages of project life cycle on topics related to Directory and Federation Services and Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-moving environment, and to work in cross functional teams.
