Efor in Belgium is seeking Calibration & Metrology Engineers to support highly regulated pharmaceutical and biotechnology projects. You will ensure instruments and measurement systems remain accurate, reliable and GMP-compliant throughout their lifecycle.

Depending on experience, you will plan, coordinate and execute calibration activities, develop strategies, review certificates, and contribute to CAPAs and change controls.

Qualifications

  • A scientific or technical degree in Instrumentation, Metrology or equivalent.
  • Experience in Calibration, Metrology, Instrumentation or Measurement Systems.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably pharma/biotech.

Responsabilités

  • Plan, coordinate and execute calibration and metrology activities.
  • Develop and maintain calibration strategies, procedures and schedules.
  • Ensure calibration of critical instruments according to GMP.
  • Review calibration certificates, reports and documentation.
  • Investigate OOT results and assess impact on quality and process.
  • Support deviation, CAPA and change control processes.
  • Define calibration ranges, tolerances and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure traceability of measurements and compliance with standards.

In Belgium, our teams contribute to high-impact industrial projects for major Life Sciences players such as UCB, GSK, Novo Nordisk, Takeda and Baxter, addressing key challenges across CQV, Quality, and Engineering.

As part of our continued growth in Belgium, we are looking for Calibration & Metrology Engineers who want to bring their technical expertise to ambitious pharmaceutical and biotechnology projects and contribute to the reliability, compliance and performance of critical equipment and instrumentation.

Your role

As a Calibration & Metrology Engineer, you will work within highly regulated pharmaceutical environments, ensuring that critical instruments and measurement systems remain accurate, reliable and compliant with GMP requirements throughout their lifecycle.

Depending on your experience and area of expertise, you may be responsible for:

  • Planning, coordinating and/or executing calibration and metrology activities;
  • Developing and maintaining calibration strategies, procedures and schedules;
  • Ensuring the calibration and verification of critical instruments according to applicable procedures and GMP requirements;
  • Managing preventive calibration activities and ensuring compliance with established frequencies and tolerances;
  • Reviewing and approving calibration certificates, reports and technical documentation;
  • Investigating Out of Tolerance (OOT) results and assessing their potential impact on product quality and process performance;
  • Supporting deviation, CAPA and change control processes related to instrumentation and measurement systems;
  • Defining calibration ranges, tolerances and acceptance criteria based on process requirements and instrument criticality;
  • Ensuring the traceability of measurements and compliance with applicable standards;
  • Coordinating calibration activities with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Quality and external suppliers;
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of calibration and metrology processes.
Your profile
  • A scientific or technical degree in Instrumentation, Electromechanics, Automation, Engineering, Metrology or equivalent;
  • First successful experience or several years of experience in Calibration, Metrology, Instrumentation or Measurement Systems;
  • Previous experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or another highly regulated industry;
  • Good understanding of GMP requirements and their application to calibration activities;
  • Hands-on knowledge of calibration principles, measurement techniques and instrumentation;
  • Understanding of measurement uncertainty, tolerances, traceability and instrument criticality;
  • Experience with OOT investigations, deviations, CAPAs and/or change control is an asset;
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including Engineering, Maintenance, Production and Quality;
  • Strong analytical skills, technical rigor, autonomy and a quality-driven mindset;
  • Good command of English; French and/or Dutch is an asset depending on the project.
