P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels seeks a seasoned Business Manager (m/f/x) for a full-time, permanent role. You will lead the financial, HR and organisational operations and work closely with the general director to shape strategic policy for this internationally oriented arts education institution.

You will manage budgets, reporting, fundraising, subsidies and European dossiers, while ensuring a healthy organisational culture and sustainable growth at P.A.R.T.S. on the Van Volxem site.

P.A.R.T.S. is looking for a Business Manager (m/f/x) for a full-time, permanent contract.

ABOUT P.A.R.T.S.

P.A.R.T.S. is an international school for contemporary dance in Brussels. Its student community is highly diverse and is recruited through auditions held worldwide. P.A.R.T.S. offers two programmes: the three-year Bachelor's programme TRAINING for dancers and choreographers, and the two-year Master's programme STUDIOS, aimed at young makers.

The school combines a strong international outlook with a firm anchoring in Brussels and the professional artistic field. Each year, numerous teachers, artists and other professionals from Belgium and abroad contribute to the programmes.

P.A.R.T.S. was founded in 1995 by choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, who has led the school ever since. From 1 January 2027, Charlotte Vandevyver will take on the role of general director. Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker will remain involved in the school's artistic and pedagogical development as founder, teacher and Senior Advisor.

The recruitment of a Business Manager is part of this new management structure. The Business Manager works closely with, and reports to, the general director, and takes on broad responsibility within that structure for the business, financial and organisational operations of P.A.R.T.S.

P.A.R.T.S. is located on the Van Volxem site in Brussels, which is also home to the dance company Rosas and music ensemble Ictus. The site has recently been thoroughly renovated and expanded, offering the three organisations high-quality infrastructure with new possibilities for education, creation, research and encounter.

ROLE

As Business Manager, you develop and safeguard the business, financial and organisational policy of P.A.R.T.S. You translate the school's artistic and pedagogical ambitions into sustainable business operations and actively help shape the future of P.A.R.T.S.

You are an important sparring partner for the general director, combining strategic insight with a strong feel for the day-to-day running of a small and dynamic organisation. You take on broad responsibility for finance, administration and HR, and play an important role in subsidies, fundraising and European dossiers.

You work closely with, and manage, the financial-administrative staff member (1 FTE), who is responsible among other things following-up on contracts and insurance, payments and the preparation of the bookkeeping. For accounting, P.A.R.T.S. also works with an external accounting firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial and business policy

• You develop a sustainable financial policy and a multi-year financial strategy, and translate policy choices into financial scenarios.
• You draw up the annual budget and multi-year budget, prepare financial analyses and forecasts, and support staff in developing and monitoring project budgets.
• You coordinate the year-end closing and annual accounts and are responsible for financial reporting to the Board of Directors and the General Assembly.
• You safeguard the organisation's financial health and correct business and legal framework, and manage the financial-administrative operations.

HR and organisational development

• In close consultation with the general director, you develop and safeguard a coherent and caring HR policy that fits the mission, scale and culture of P.A.R.T.S.
• You oversee staff planning and the staffing budget, and ensure clear frameworks around roles, responsibilities and remuneration.
• You coordinate recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, training and professional development processes, with attention to talent development, wellbeing and a healthy organisational culture.

You safeguard the social-legal aspects of HR policy and contribute to an efficient organisational structure and well-functioning internal processes.

Subsidies, fundraising and international files

• You coordinate the business and financial aspects of subsidy and policy files, and ensure correct and timely reporting to subsidising authorities.
• You follow relevant developments in the Flemish, Brussels and international policy landscape and translate these into the operations and strategy of P.A.R.T.S.
• You develop policy on fundraising and alternative financing, and build relationships with public and private partners, funds, foundations and patrons.
• You coordinate European subsidy and cooperation files and contribute to the development and external financing of the scholarship policy.

PROFILE

We are looking for an experienced business professional who combines strategic insight with decisiveness, and who feels at home in a small organisation with a strongly international and artistic context.

• You have extensive relevant experience in business, financial and/or organisational leadership, and possess strong financial expertise.
• You have extensive experience with budgeting, financial planning, reporting and analysis.
• You have relevant experience with HR policy and are familiar with social-legal issues and organisational development.
• You analyse complex issues sharply, develop workable solutions, take initiative and are not afraid to make decisions.
• You work with a high degree of autonomy, in good coordination with the general director and the team, and switch easily between strategy and the concrete needs of day-to-day operations.
• You are a strong communicator, careful and reliable, and contribute to an open and constructive working culture.
• You have an affinity with the arts and/or education sector and are familiar with subsidy policy and the preparation and follow-up of subsidy files.
• Experience developing private financing — through funds, foundations, patronage or other partners — and/or with European files is an asset.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch, English and French.
