Job summary

Hydro is seeking an experienced EU Public Affairs professional to join our Brussels office. You will help develop and execute Hydro's advocacy on EU trade, industrial and sustainability policies, working at the intersection of politics, industry and policy.

Reporting to the Head of EU Affairs, you will monitor developments, represent Hydro with EU institutions and stakeholders, build key relationships in Brussels, and translate complex policy changes into actionable business recommendations.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years in in-house EU public affairs, consultancy or Brussels-based body.
• Strong understanding of EU decision-making and policy landscape.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Fluent English; another European language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy strategies on EU policy initiatives, particularly within trade, raw materials, industrial and sustainability policy.
• Monitor and assess political and regulatory developments across the European institutions and Member States.
• Represent Hydro in engagements with EU institutions, policymakers, industry associations and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in Brussels.
• Partner with subject matter experts across Hydro’s businesses to develop policy positions and advocacy priorities.
• Prepare briefings, presentations and strategic materials for senior executives and business leaders.
• Support the planning and execution of meetings, events and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Provide strategic insights on emerging policy trends and their potential impact on Hydro’s business.
