Qualifications

• Master's degree in finance, economics, business or related field.

• Knowledge of financial markets and market infrastructure advantageous.
• Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools desirable.
• Experience in regulated environments is a plus.

Our client is a well-established international organisation operating at the heart of European financial markets. To support its continued growth and development, the organisation is seeking a Market Data Officer to join its operations team.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the management, quality assurance, and evolution of key market data products and financial benchmarks within a highly regulated and dynamic environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will play a key role in the oversight, monitoring, and development of financial benchmark and market data activities. You will contribute to operational excellence, product innovation, market analysis, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Benchmark Operations & Data Quality

• Support the daily monitoring, control, and execution of benchmark and market data production processes.
• Ensure the integrity, reliability, and consistency of published data and benchmark outputs.
• Design and perform regular data quality controls and validation procedures.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of operational frameworks and methodologies.
• Assist in the maintenance and development of supporting systems and tools.
• Participate in the design, enhancement, and launch of new benchmark and market data products.
• Contribute to strategic projects aimed at strengthening the organisation's service offering.
• Support product governance activities and lifecycle management initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and client value.

Market Analysis & Reporting

• Monitor developments across European financial and capital markets.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to support business and product decisions.
• Prepare regular reports, market updates, and analytical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to periodic methodology reviews and ongoing performance assessments of benchmark products.

Project Management

• Lead and coordinate selected operational and product-related projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support the implementation of strategic and regulatory initiatives.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree combined with significant relevant professional experience.
• Initial professional experience in financial markets, market data, benchmark administration, data analytics, risk management, research, or a similar environment.
• Experience working with large datasets and data quality controls.
• Knowledge of financial markets and market infrastructure is considered an advantage.
• Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools is highly desirable.
• Exposure to project-based work within a regulated or financial environment is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
• Experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualisation solutions.
• Ability to analyse, interpret, and communicate complex datasets effectively.
