Enstar Group in Belgium is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic oversight of local statutory and regulatory reporting, ensure compliance, and serve as the principal contact for regulators and external auditors. The role leads a small team and reports to the Board, influencing the direction of the broader Finance function.

The CFO will partner with the Group Consolidation & Reporting Lead to execute global/regional tasks, drive governance, and support M&A and capital management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with extensive Belgium market insurance experience.
• Qualified accountant with at least 10 years in a financial role, leadership experience.
• Experience preparing financial analysis and board reports.
• Experience with month-end/year-end close and general ledger functions.
• Direct experience with Belgian regulator.
• Strong knowledge of Belgium GAAP and IFRS.
• Extensive experience in the Property and Casualty insurance sector.
• Fluency in English; another national language preferred.
• Ability to lead a team of professionals and manage regulator expectations.
• Experience with external audits and governance.

Responsabilités

• Define expectations and review standards for local statutory and regulatory financial report production.
• Provide approval governance for local financial submissions (annual reports, regulatory returns, tax filings).
• Maintain awareness of local regulatory changes and proactive compliance planning.
• Establish and optimise regulator inquiries handling and follow-ups.
• Define expectations for audit request management and evidence quality.
• Act as primary contact for local regulatory authorities on financial reporting topics.
• Represent finance in regulatory interactions and inspections.
• Govern governance of the relationship with the local external audit partner.
• Oversee audit observations and closure of issues.
• Provide oversight of legal-entity financial performance reporting to the local CEO and Board.
• Keep local leadership informed of material financial matters.
• Coordinate with Group Consolidation & Reporting Lead on global/regional tasks.
• Provide regional input to Group Financial Controller on risk and audit themes.
• Coordinate tax documentation preparation and regulatory compliance.
• Support CEO in identifying strategic opportunities with financial insight.
• Fulfil statutory and governance obligations as Director; adhere to Terms of Reference.
• Serve as CFO for SISE and report to the Board quarterly.
• Act as a member of the Belgium Management Committee.
• Support acquisitions and manage capital/liquidity requirements.
• Undertake other duties as required.
