Job summary

ScioTeq Avionics in Belgium seeks a Safety & Reliability Engineer to strengthen the RAMS team for mission-critical avionics programs. You will develop SAR/PSAR, perform safety analyses, and execute reliability predictions across the lifecycle, collaborating with software, hardware, and system teams.

You will contribute to RAMS methodologies, support certifications, and stay ahead of industry trends while communicating in English (Dutch a plus).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Aerospace, Electronics, Engineering Sciences)
• Minimum 2 years in safety/reliability engineering or related high-tech industry
• Experience in regulated environments and knowledge of aerospace safety standards is a plus
• Strong knowledge of SAR/PSAR and safety assessments
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn ARP4754/ARP4761
• Familiarity with reliability prediction (RPR) and FMEA
• Experience with BIT concepts and diagnostics
• Experience with RAMS tools (Winchill, Jama Connect) is valued
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration
• English proficiency; Dutch a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Safety Assessment Reports (SAR/PSAR).
• Perform safety analyses across the product development lifecycle.
• Execute reliability predictions (RPR) to assess lifetime and performance.
• Analyze reliability data and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate reliability requirements and compliance.
• Conduct FMEA analyses.
• Assess potential failure scenarios and impact on safety.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
• Define and evaluate BIT concepts and diagnostics.
• Support verification activities to improve robustness and maintainability.
• Contribute to RAMS methodologies and standards.
• Investigate new tools and industry trends.
• Work with Software, Hardware, and System Engineering teams.
• Participate in technical reviews and multidisciplinary discussions.
• Support safety certification activities and audits.
• Act as trusted advisor on safety and reliability topics.
