Novartis in Puurs, Belgium is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to deliver investment projects on time and within budget, ensuring reliable production and high performance.

You will maintain automation systems across the site, handle hardware/software upgrades, troubleshooting and validation activities, and collaborate with production, engineering and IT teams. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Industrial Engineering with automation, IT, Electromechanics)
• 6+ years’ experience in automation within an industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of PLC development (Schneider, Siemens), HMI, SCADA (iFix) and databases
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written

Responsabilités

• Executing and following up on automation projects across the entire production site
• Managing various automation systems (production, buildings, utilities) and contributing to automation planning
• Developing projects with technical specs, detailed plans, risk analyses and proper documentation
• Coordinating installation and software development, transferring completed projects to production and maintenance
• Collaborating with production, engineering and IT stakeholders
• Delivering projects for operational validation with complete documentation and software backups
• Supporting validation activities
• Troubleshooting automation system issues
• Organizing internal training and onboarding of new automation colleagues
• Maintaining up-to-date automation procedures
• Recommending improvements and upgrades to increase efficiency
