Job Description Summary

The Automation Delivery Lead is accountable for enterprise automation delivery across relevant technologies, platforms, and initiatives, with an initial focus on Appian and the Aurora programme. The role owns and governs the Automation Factory while also providing delivery leadership for automation scope outside the Factory, ensuring consistent, secure, and compliant delivery aligned with business priorities and Sandoz standards. The role is responsible for evolving and scaling the Automation Factory by onboarding additional platforms, delivery capabilities, and use cases into the Factory operating model. Working through delivery partners and internal stakeholders, the position ensures end-to-end delivery accountability, effective cross-functional coordination, partner performance, platform integrity, business value, and sustainable operational outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Own enterprise automation delivery across Factory and non-Factory scope, while governing and progressively expanding the Automation Factory across additional platforms, capabilities, and business demand.

  • Act as the primary internal interface with delivery partners, holding partners accountable for agreed scope, timelines, budget, quality, resourcing, contractual commitments, and knowledge transfer.

  • Align business stakeholders, architecture, platform engineering, quality, security, operations, and other internal functions on priorities, dependencies, decisions, and solution readiness.

  • Establish and govern delivery standards, lifecycle controls, reusable patterns, documentation, release expectations, and compliance with enterprise architecture, information security, GxP, validation, and data integrity requirements.

  • Oversee demand intake, delivery-route assessment, roadmaps, prioritisation, capacity, major risks, dependencies, escalations, business adoption, and transition of solutions into sustainable operational support.

  • Drive the onboarding of additional automation platforms and capabilities into the Factory model, using delivery performance, lessons learned, reusable assets, and business demand to scale the capability sustainably.

Essential Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT, application delivery, software engineering, platform delivery, or automation solutions.

  • At least 5 years of experience with end-to-end accountability for complex technology delivery involving multiple stakeholders, platforms, and external delivery partners.

  • Experience delivering enterprise automation solutions, ideally using Appian or comparable low-code, workflow, orchestration, or automation platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience establishing, governing, and scaling a factory-based or comparable delivery model.

  • Strong experience governing delivery partners, contractual commitments, service performance, delivery quality, risks, escalations, and knowledge transfer.

  • Proven ability to align business, architecture, engineering, quality, security, and operational stakeholders on priorities, decisions, dependencies, and delivery readiness.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end technology delivery, including demand intake, requirements, solution assessment, design, build, testing, validation, release, adoption, and transition to support, using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methods.

  • Experience establishing delivery standards, lifecycle controls, reusable patterns, release governance, capacity models, and performance measures across Factory and non-Factory delivery.

  • Knowledge of enterprise integration, APIs, workflow orchestration, information security, validation practices, GxP requirements, and data integrity principles.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a global matrix organisation and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
