Ariad is seeking an experienced AI Coach to promote AI adoption within R&D Software Engineering teams in Belgium. The assignment is 6 months with possible extensions, and engagement can be full-time or part-time.

Responsibilities include driving GitHub Copilot adoption, coaching teams, and implementing AI use cases while ensuring Responsible AI governance and human oversight.

Ariad is looking, on behalf of one of its clients (an international organization active in the life sciences sector), for an experienced AI Coach to drive the adoption of AI within its R&D Software Engineering teams.

Initial assignment of 6 months, with possible extension to other teams. Full-time or part-time engagement.

About the mission

The target team is mainly composed of software developers, with some infrastructure profiles. AI maturity within the team is uneven: some members are resistant to AI, others are already advanced users working with leading-edge AI tools.

The organization's standard tool is GitHub Copilot. The goal is to encourage gradual adoption, while supporting developers already attached to other tools in transitioning smoothly, without imposing an abrupt change.

The organization follows a Responsible AI approach: AI should support people, not replace them, with human oversight remaining essential. The industry is also subject to regulatory constraints that shape how AI can be used in the software development lifecycle.

Your responsibilities

AI Adoption & Coaching

• Drive adoption of GitHub Copilot and new ways of working with AI within development teams.


• Coach teams on effective use of AI tools in their daily work.


• Identify and help implement high-value AI use cases across the development lifecycle.


• Support teams in moving from experimentation to repeatable, scalable AI-enabled processes.

Software Engineering Excellence

• Help define standards for AI-generated code quality, testing, documentation, security, and maintainability.


• Advise on the right balance between AI assistance and human expertise.

Governance & Responsible AI

• Contribute to practical governance frameworks for AI usage (human-in-the-loop validation, prompt engineering, secure coding).


• Support monitoring mechanisms related to AI tool usage.

Training & Change Management

• Deliver workshops, training, and coaching sessions.


• Create learning materials for engineers, tech leads, and managers.


• Help build internal communities of practice and AI champions.


• Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.

Your profile

• Recognized background in software development, not necessarily recent, but genuine and credible to experienced developers.


• Solid understanding of software engineering processes, architecture, and CI/CD practices.


• Mid-level seniority minimum; junior profiles excluded.


• Strong coaching, facilitation, and change management skills, at least as important as the technical dimension.


• Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, ability to influence and coach without imposing.


• GitHub Copilot experience is a strong asset, though not a strict requirement if the candidate learns quickly.


• French required as the primary language, English as secondary. Native French not required, professional fluency mandatory.
