Companion.energy is hiring an Applied AI Engineer to own the foundation of our agentic features—the architecture, harnesses, evals, tool surface, model choices, and guardrails that keep AI workflows reliable for large enterprise customers.

Ghent, Belgium (hybrid) is our hub, and you will help scale a platform that moves megawatts and money by translating predictions into automated decisions across contracts, markets, and assets.

Qualifications

• You've built agentic systems that survived contact with paying customers.
• Evals as a habit rather than an afterthought: you have built eval harnesses and used them to catch regressions.
• You've designed tool surfaces for models rather than people and focused on deterministic code when needed.

Responsabilités

• Define the agentic architecture, tool surfaces, and how context is assembled for reliable AI workflows.
• Build evaluation harnesses and datasets to ensure quality across runs and prevent regressions.
• Design and implement multi-model orchestration and model swap strategies.
• Optimize cost, latency, and reliability as product constraints and implement guardrails for enterprise data.
