Koda Tech in Leuven, Belgium, is seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our hybrid team. You will design, build and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin, collaborating with engineers to deliver high-quality mobile solutions.

You will own projects from requirements through release, contribute to architecture, integrate with enterprise backends, and leverage Firebase for analytics and messaging.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Android development with Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK and modern development practices.
• Experience with Coroutines, Flow and Jetpack components.
• Experience implementing MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Familiarity with Dependency Injection frameworks.
• 3+ years integrating RESTful APIs and local storage.
• 5+ years Firebase services including Crashlytics, Analytics and Push.
• Strong problem-solving and user-focused mindset.

Are you an experienced Android Developer looking to work on products that genuinely improve people's day-to-day lives? My client is undergoing an exciting mobile transformation and looking to expand its in-house development team.

Working within a collaborative team of software engineers, you'll play a key role in designing and building high-performance mobile applications that connect complex enterprise systems with thousands of end users. This is an opportunity to take ownership of mobile products from concept through to release while helping shape the future mobile strategy of a highly digital organisation.

The Opportunity

As a Android Developer, you will:

• Design, develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
• Build intuitive, scalable mobile solutions that streamline operational processes and improve user experience.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions, ensuring solutions are secure, maintainable and built for long-term growth.
• Integrate mobile applications with enterprise backend systems and APIs.
• Utilise Firebase services for analytics, crash reporting, monitoring and messaging.
• Take ownership of projects throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design through to deployment and support.
• Stay up to date with emerging mobile technologies and contribute to future platform strategy, including potential expansion into iOS and cross-platform development.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of commercial experience developing Android applications with Kotlin.
• Excellent understanding of Android SDK and modern Android development principles.
• Experience working with Coroutines, Flow and Android Jetpack components.
• Knowledge of modern UI development, including Jetpack Compose.
• 5+ years of experience implementing scalable mobile architectures such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Familiarity with Dependency Injection frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with local data storage solutions.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Firebase services, including Crashlytics, Analytics and Push Notifications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to iOS development (Swift).
• Experience with cross‑platform technologies such as Flutter, React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Knowledge of backend systems, databases and enterprise application environments.
• Experience working within large‑scale, business‑critical software environments.
