Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk is seeking an algorithm researcher to develop control algorithms and AI-driven solutions for compressed air systems, aiming to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
You will prototype in MATLAB/Simulink or Python, collaborate with mathematicians, physicists, software engineers and mechatronics experts, and contribute across the full development lifecycle from concept to post-market support.

As an algorithm researcher, you will join our specialized software team responsible for developing control algorithms and simulation models for compressed air systems. In this role, you research, validate, and implement advanced control methodologies and AI-driven solutions to optimize machine performance, extend equipment lifespan, and reduce energy usage.
In your daily flow involves researching novel algorithms, prototyping solutions in Matlab/Simulink or Python, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mathematicians, physicists, software engineers, and mechatronic experts. You participate in the end-to-end development lifecycle from early academic concept and prototyping to implementation, final product delivery, and post-market support. You also track state-of-the-art technological trends in AI, machine learning, embedded control systems, and IoT, while building relationships with academic and industrial research partners.
