Abakus IT-Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Engineer in Belgium to design and implement data integration, modeling, and quality control processes. You will develop pipelines from multiple sources, define transformation rules, and ensure data quality across systems.

The role requires strong ETL/ELT experience, data governance knowledge, and proficiency with tools like FME and Talend. French language skills (C2) are essential to collaborate with stakeholders and ensure accurate data

Qualifications

• Confirmed experience as a Data Engineer, particularly in ETL/ELT environments.
• Good knowledge of data governance principles.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of ETL and data quality tools, particularly FME and/or Talend.
• Strong knowledge of database management system analysis and design processes.
• Good understanding of Data Quality Management principles and processes.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement data integration, analysis, and quality control processes.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines from multiple sources.
• Define data transformation, normalization, and consolidation rules.
• Implement mechanisms for deduplication and conflict management between different data sources.
• Design and automate data quality controls.
• Monitor data completeness, consistency, uniqueness, compliance, and freshness.
• Detect anomalies, duplicates, abnormal values, and inconsistencies between systems.
• Develop data cleansing, standardization, normalization, enrichment, and correction processes.
• Identify root causes of data quality issues and contribute to their resolution.
• Implement data quality monitoring mechanisms and indicators.
• Analyze trends and propose technical or organizational improvements.
• Participate in functional, technical, and integration testing activities.
• Support teams in resolving technical incidents related to data.
• Document processes and tools to facilitate maintenance and future evolution.

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer specialized in data integration, data modeling, and data quality to contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes used to feed, control, secure, and maintain the quality of a data repository.

You will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to projects involving the consolidation of data from multiple sources, data transformation, quality control, and data delivery to various systems and applications.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and implement data integration, analysis, and quality control processes.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines from multiple sources.
• Define data transformation, normalization, and consolidation rules.
• Implement mechanisms for deduplication and conflict management between different data sources.

• Experience in the public sector is considered an asset.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Excellent command of French, both written and spoken.
• Required language: French – C2 level
