Skeyes Air Traffic is seeking an Airspace Design Architect in Belgium to lead the design and optimisation of national airspace. You will coordinate the Airspace Design Cell, align projects with long-term objectives and work closely with Operations to ensure designs are feasible and compliant.

You will apply a strategic, cross-disciplinary approach, leveraging regulatory knowledge of ICAO and EASA, and engage with national, regional and European stakeholders to advance airspace transformation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in airspace design.
• Fluent English; French and/or Dutch an asset.
• Strong knowledge of ICAO and EASA regulations.
• Ability to think conceptually and integrate technical, operational and strategic dimensions.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate the Airspace Design Cell and ensure alignment with national objectives.
• Develop long-term airspace master planning and prioritise revision needs.
• Maintain inventory of changes and monitor implementation with impact analysis.
• Perform simulations to assess feasibility, benefits and risks of planned changes.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with ICAO, EASA and national authorities; anticipate regulatory developments.
• Collaborate with Operations, Flight Procedure Design and other key functions to ensure designs are operationally viable.
• Represent skeyes in national, regional and European working groups on airspace design.

You will lead the Airspace Design Cell, which is responsible forinitiating and overseeing airspace design projects. You will play akey role in the transformation of the national airspace, ensuring thatdesign projects are strategically aligned with skeyes' long-termobjectives, while remaining closely coordinated with the operationalrealities managed by the Operations department.

What does an Airspace Design Architect do at skeyes?

Development of a strategic approach to airspace design and optimisation:

• Long-term planning (Airspace Master Planning): developingan overall strategy for an interconnected, high-performance,scalable and sustainable airspace structure;
• Prioritisation: identifying and prioritising airspace revisionneeds, considering performance, safety, capacity and efficiency objectives;
• Inventory and monitoring of changes: maintaining an inventory ofchanges and change projects impacting operations or the financialsituation and monitoring their implementation;
• Impact analysis: assessing the effects of planned changes onairspace structure, safety, efficiency, capacity and the environment;
• Simulation and validation: carrying out simulations of plannedchanges using specialised tools to assess their feasibility,benefits and risks.

Regulatory compliance and innovation:

• Compliance with international standards: ensuring that all designprojects comply with applicable regulations (ICAO, EASA, national authority);
• Regulatory anticipation: monitoring regulatory developments andadapting the design strategy accordingly;
• Strategic innovation: identifying and integrating innovativesolutions to meet operational and environmental challenges.

Coordination and collaboration with stakeholders:

• Internal collaboration: working in close coordination withOperations, Flight Procedure Design and other key functions, toensure that proposed designs are aligned with operational realitiesand needs.

Airspace Design Cell management:

• Structuring and managing the Airspace Design Cell;
• Defining the priorities, methodology and design standards usedwithin the cell;
• Acting as the strategic focal point for all airspace design topics.

Launch and supervision of design projects:

• Identifying, planning and initiating new airspace design orrevision projects in close collaboration with Operations;
• Ensuring that each project is consistent with national andinternational requirements;
• Supervising the smooth running of projects, in line with safety,capacity, environmental and efficiency constraints.

Working with Operations:

• Working in close coordination with the Operations department,which remains responsible for implementing design projects;
• Ensuring that the proposed designs are realistic, integrable andcompatible with current operational processes;
• Organising coordination and validation points with operational stakeholders.

Coordination with external stakeholders:

• Representing skeyes in national, regional and European workinggroups related to airspace design;
• Coordinating with civil and military stakeholders, aircraftoperators, regulators, technology partners and other ANSPs as applicable.

What makes you the perfect Airspace Design Architect?

• You have more than 5 years' experience in airspace design.
• You are able to think conceptually, integrating technical,operational and strategic dimensions.
• You have an excellent command of regulatory frameworks such asICAO and EASA, as well as key concepts such as PBN, FRA, CCO/CDO, etc..
• You are a self-motivated, proactive individual with stronganalytical and synthesis skills;
• You have excellent communication, organisation and coordinationskills, which are needed to work effectively in a team and with avariety of stakeholders.
• You will be able to work well with operational departments, civiland military stakeholders, and adapt to diverse working environments.
• Experience as an air traffic controller is an asset.
• You are fluent in English and the ability to express yourself inFrench and/or Dutch is an asset.
