Job summary

PwC Belgium is seeking a motivated Accounting Project Expert to join PwC Business Services. You will support clients through temporary assignments in accounting, financial reporting, consolidation and ERP-related projects, collaborating with diverse teams to enhance financial processes.

The role offers exposure to multinationals and local firms, with a focus on closing, reporting and tax activities, while enabling professional growth and a structured, autonomous work style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in accounting or audit.
• Mother tongue Dutch or French with fluency in English.
• Ability to manage closing, reporting, tax and statutory accounting activities autonomously.
• Structured work style with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Familiar with MS Office; knowledge of other specialized programs is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Dynamic, flexible, professional, client-oriented with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Managing month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, payroll reconciliations, depreciation, inventory, revaluations, and balance sheet analysis.
• Preparing VAT returns, client listings, Intrastat declarations, NBB surveys and tax filings.
• Preparing annual accounts and supporting internal and external audits.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements related to accounting processes.

What does a job within PwC Business Services look like?

• Project Resource Solutions: As a consultant within our Project Resource Solutions team, you support our clients through temporary assignments in their work environment. You will be assigned to tasks in accounting, financial or business controlling, consolidation, support ERP projects, management reporting tools or interim management. You use the skills you acquired externally or within PwC to address workforce gaps for a few weeks or several months. You are part of the client’s finance team and you are interested in supporting different stakeholders within their company on different finance-related topics. Advise your clients, improve their processes, run operations within their finance department, and assist the client in building or changing their financial processes.
• SME Accounting and Advice: Whatever the business, small or larger, we have the experience and expertise to offer tailored operational solutions for each stage of the company’s growth, from strategy through execution. You work side by side with our clients on their accounting and tax compliance. You are interested to support them with the financial challenges they face, wheter it is operational finance, tax compliance or related to reporting, consolidation or transactions (mergers, acquisitions, valuation,...).

To enhance our dynamic PwC Business Services team, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Accounting Project Expert.

Your impact

As Accounting Project Expert, you will get the opportunity to work for diverse clients like multinationals, holdings and local firms, active in a variety of industries. That means that you will constantly evolve by learning new and different skills depending on the client’s needs.

You will be required to perform, according to the specific needs of customers, diverse and varied tasks. You’ll make an impact by:

• Managing month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, payroll reconciliations, depreciations, inventory, revaluations, and the reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet items
• Communicating clearly with stakeholders both written and verbally
• Preparing filing VAT returns, client listings, Intrastat declarations, NBB surveysand tax filings
• Preparing annual accounts
• Assisting with internal and external audits
• Identifying process improvements related to the accounting process

About you

• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field;
• You have at least 3 to 8 years of experience in accountancy or audit;
• Your mother tongue is Dutch or French and you express yourself fluently in English;
• You have relevant professional experience in accounting and are able to manage closing, reporting, tax and statutory accounting activities with a high degree of autonomy;
• You work in a structured way, distinguish key priorities from less important aspects of an analysis and respect agreed deadlines;
• You are familiar with MS Office; any knowledge of other specialized programs is highly appreciated;
• You are able to work independently and you have a good sense of responsibility;
• You are dynamic, flexible and professional.
• You are client-oriented, out-of-the-box thinker with a critical mindset.
