Forvis Mazars in Belgium is seeking an Accounting & Tax Manager to lead complex engagements and drive strategic advisory for key clients. You will guide partners and senior leaders while mentoring a team of accountants to deliver high-quality work.

You will own major client relationships, provide trusted business advice, and pursue growth opportunities across national and international accounts within a flexible hybrid setup in Ghent.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of accounting and tax advisory experience.
• Experience leading and coaching professional teams.
• Strong accounting, taxation, and financial reporting expertise.
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management.
• Dutch and English proficiency.

Your Role: Leadership, Client Ownership and Strategic Impact

In this leadership role, you will oversee complex accounting and tax engagements, act as a trusted advisor to key clients, and drive the quality and growth of our accounting practice. You will combine technical excellence with strong people leadership, guiding a team of accountants while helping clients make informed financial and strategic decisions.

What will you do?

• Lead Client Engagements: Oversee complex accounting, tax, and compliance projects from planning through completion, ensuring exceptional service quality.
• Own Key Client Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, building long-term partnerships and providing trusted business advice.
• Drive Strategic Advisory Services: Go beyond compliance by helping clients identify opportunities, manage risks, and support business growth.
• Manage and Develop Talent: Coach, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, supporting both their technical and professional growth.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: Review complex accounting files, tax returns, financial statements, and advisory deliverables while maintaining the highest quality standards.
• Contribute to Business Growth: Identify opportunities within existing client relationships, support business development initiatives, and strengthen our market presence.
• Shape Operational Excellence: Improve processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and client experience.

About You

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in accounting and tax advisory, including managing complex client portfolios.
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing professional teams.
• Strong technical expertise in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
• Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to identify advisory and growth opportunities.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
• ITAA certification is highly valued.
• A proactive leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.
