Job summary

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd in Mount Isa is seeking a Youth Worker to support engagement, wellbeing and social inclusion for students who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. You will design activities that complement the educational program and work daily with young people.

The role is in an all-female classroom, with opportunities to contribute to trauma-informed practice and to work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• WWCC clearance required.
• Valid driver’s licence (essential) or Light Rigid licence (desirable).
• Experience in youth sector with knowledge of local First Nations communities.

Responsibilities

• Support, design and develop engagement, wellbeing and social inclusion activities for students.
• Work daily with young people, including in an all-female classroom, with trauma-informed approaches.
• Maintain duty of care and assist with safeguarding procedures.
