Life Without Barriers is seeking a Youth Worker for casual roles across Newcastle & Lake Macquarie. You will monitor family visits, provide mentoring to children and youths, and assist with transportation while ensuring safety and context-appropriate support.

The role requires a Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent, First Aid and CPR, a valid driver licence, and comfort with tech tools like MS Teams and Outlook. A vehicle with child locks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, or other relevant qualifications.
• Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certifications.
• Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
• Comprehensively insured vehicle with child lock system and back seat capacity.
• Confident using computer systems and Outlook/MS Teams.
• Experience working with children and young people.
• Passion and commitment to improving life quality, skills and independence for children and young people.

Responsabilités

Position: Youth Worker – Family Based Care

Employment Type: Casual

Location: Newcastle & Lake Macquarie

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring family visits between children and their families, including transportation. You may also be involved in providing mentorship support to children and young people.

These positions offer shifts between 3-7 hours duration, scheduled according to client needs, across seven days of the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Skills & Experience

• Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, or other relevant qualifications to the industry.
• Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide CPR (HLTAID009) certifications
• Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
• Comprehensively insured vehicle with child lock system and back seat capacity.
• Confident in using a variety computer systems and outlook.
• Previous experience working with children and young people.
• Passion & commitment to improving the quality of life, skills and independence of children and young people.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register Check.
