Job summary

Minchinbury Anglican Church in Rooty Hill, NSW, invites applications for a part time youth worker to join our growing ministry team. Remuneration will be in line with the Sydney Anglican Diocese guidelines, and the role is on-site in Sydney's western suburbs.

You will work with volunteers and lead Friday Youth events, support Sunday activities, and help develop a vibrant, multicultural youth ministry. A theology degree in progress and good communication are preferred, with a heart to disciple

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a follower of Jesus with evangelical convictions.
• Willing to pursue theological study.
• Ability to work with youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Preach at Friday Youth Evening.
• Lead at Minchinbury Youth on Friday Evening.
• Attend Junior High Discipleship Group on Sunday Morning.
• Lead church services on Sunday Night.
• Preach on Sundays when appropriate.
• Train and encourage others in leadership of youth.

The Role

We are seeking to employ a part time (2 - 2.5 days) youth worker to work alongside our existing ministry team and volunteers in our growing youth ministry. Remuneration will be in line with the Sydney Anglican Diocese guidelines.

The Responsibilities

Depending on gifting and training goals, specific responsibilities may include:

• Preaching at Minchinbury Youth (Friday Evening)
• Leading at Minchinbury Youth (Friday Evening)
• Attending Jnr High Discipleship Group (Sunday Morning)
• Leading Church Services (Sunday Night)
• Preaching on Sunday (if appropriate).
• Training and encouraging others in their leadership of young people.

The Requirements

Character

• A loyal, humble, teachable, generous, and servant hearted follower of Jesus.
• Someone who is creative, innovative, and able to implement ideas.

Convictions

• Have theological convictions that are reformed and evangelical.
• Has a heart for multicultural ministry and mission.
• A passion for kids, youth, and family ministry.

Competency

• Working towards a theological degree or advanced diploma.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team context and inspire others in ministry.
• Good communication, administrative, and relational skills.
