Job summary

St John of God Health Care in Geelong is seeking a compassionate Youth Worker for a sleepover, casual daytime and night shifts. The role focuses on supporting young people to build independence, resilience and brighter futures in a residential setting.

You will build trust, provide safe accommodation and practical support, work with a dedicated team, and assist in education, training and employment pathways while upholding privacy, safety and OH&S standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent required.
• State driver's license and Working with Children Card essential.
• Valid First Aid & CPR certification is mandatory.
• Familiarity withPrivacy legislation and OH&S requirements.

Horizon House Geelong is seeking a compassionate and committed Youth Worker to join our team in a casual capacity, providing flexible support to young people within a caring and supportive environment. This is a **sleepover position with shifts rostered across weekdays and weekends**, offering the opportunity to provide consistent support while working within a dedicated and caring team environment As a **Youth Worke**r, you will provide practical and emotional support to young people in a residential care setting, helping them develop essential life skills, achieve personal goals, and engage positively with their community. Working closely with a dedicated team, you will contribute to a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where young people feel valued, respected, and supported to reach their full potential.**The position** * Build strong, trusting relationships with young people, placing their interests and well-being at the forefront of all interactions.* Provide safe and stable long-term accommodation to a young people who are at risk of being homelessness, creating an environment that promotes growth and development.* Offer outreach, strengths based and practical support to meet the continuum of care arrangements for young people with complex needs.* Assist young people in realising their aspirations and potential, through participating in education, training, and employment services.* Assist in case management and planning for young people* Support young people in developing independent living skills**Skills and experience** You will have an understanding of the special needs of adolescents and trauma-informed care, together with recent experience working with at-risk young people, extensive experience in an area related to youth work and knowledge of the Privacy Legislation and Occupational, Health & Safety Act Regulations. Successful applicants will hold a minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work or similar, State's Drivers Licence, valid First Aid & CPR and Working with Children Card.
