Job summary

Global Disability & Community Services – Camden NSW is seeking a patient, confident Disability Support Worker to support an 11-year-old boy with TBI, ADHD, ODD and PTSD. The role focuses on building a strong relationship and providing structured routines, emotional regulation, and safe community access.

Essential requirements include a Certificate III/IV in Disability or related field, WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid & CPR, Police Check and a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children/young people with complex behaviours.
• Calm, patient and confident managing challenging behaviours.
• Strong understanding of positive behaviour support.

Responsibilities

• Build a positive and trusting relationship with Atticus.
• Follow Atticus’s Positive Behaviour Support Plan, routines and visual schedules.
• Support emotional regulation and recognise early signs of escalation.
• Respond calmly and confidently to challenging behaviours, aggression and meltdowns.
• Use positive reinforcement, clear boundaries and choices to encourage appropriate behaviour.
• Provide close supervision to maintain safety, including during community access and around other children.
• Supervise internet, device and screen use in line with his safety plan.
• Support appropriate personal boundaries and social interactions.
• Maintain clear communication with the care team and report incidents or concerns.

We are seeking a patient, confident and experienced Disability Support Worker to support an 11-year-old boy living with the impacts of a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), ADHD, ODD and PTSD.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Support Worker who enjoys working with children and can build a strong, positive relationship while providing consistent support with emotional regulation, routines, community access and daily activities.

The successful candidate will be someone who can remain calm and composed during challenging situations and understands that behaviour is often a form of communication.

Key Responsibilities
