Job summary

Ruah Community Services is seeking three Casual Youth Suicide Counsellors to join our Luminos Mental Health & Wellness team in Subiaco. You will provide counselling, risk assessment, safety planning and care coordination to support vulnerable young people.

Join a multidisciplinary team committed to trauma-informed, person-centred care and community impact, with flexible shifts across day, afternoon, evening, overnight and sleep roles.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Counselling or equivalent qualification in allied health.
• Experience working with young people facing complex trauma and mental health issues.
• Ability to conduct suicide risk assessments and develop safety plans.
• Experience delivering therapeutic counselling and care coordination.
• Strong relationship-building with young people and families.
• Personal goal planning to support positive outcomes.
• Strong report writing, documentation and analytical reasoning.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with peer workers.
• Understanding of diversity, social inclusion, cultural safety and Aboriginal culture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver counselling and suicide risk assessment for youth.
• Develop and implement safety plans and care coordination.
• Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based support to clients.
• Collaborate with Team Lead, peers and external services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and case notes.
