Job summary

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a Senior Practitioner to coordinate and deliver youth services in the Bass Coast region, including the YES Youth Hub in Wonthaggi and outreach across Bass Coast. The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, supervision of facilitators and volunteers, and ensuring program activities meet project timelines and outcomes.

The position is Senior Practitioner (SCHADS Level 6), part-time at 22.8 hours per week, with a flexible delivery model and some after-hours work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist and/or related behavioural sciences with substantial experience or postgraduate qualification or associate diploma with substantial experience attained through previous appointments, service and/or study with a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at this level.

  • Coordinate and facilitate activities within the YES Youth Hub and deliver outreach services across the Bass Coast region.
  • Engage key stakeholders and provide supervision/support to youth facilitators, students and volunteers.

  • Support young people across Bass Coast region
  • On-going position

The Program:

Our Bass Coast Youth Services program, delivered in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging service for young people in the Bass Coast area, fostering strong community relationships and empowering youth aged 12 to 25 years. Bass Coast Youth Services is based at the YES Youth Hub in Wonthaggi and outreaches across the Bass Coast area.

About the role:

You will be part of a dynamic team delivering services directly to young people. You will be primarily responsible for coordinating and facilitating activities within the YES Youth Hub and delivering outreach services across the Bass Coast region.

You will be responsible for key stakeholder engagement and providing supervision/support to youth facilitators/students/volunteers within the program.

Position Requirements:
  • A relevant Degree in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist and/or related behavioural sciences with substantial experience or post graduate qualification or associate diploma with substantial experience attained through previous appointments, service and/or study with a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at this level.
  • Significant experience and knowledge in respect to working with youth people in a range of settings to support better outcomes I.e., Mental Health, Homeliness, Trauma, Youth Justice, Community, Out of Home Care etc.
  • Experience working within youth focused outreach models and responding to community place-based needs.
  • Experienced in co-ordinating project activities, including meeting project deliverables in line with project plan i.e., timelines, budgets, and resourcing.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and capacity to prioritise competing demands.
  • Highly competent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing reports and presenting information to large groups of people either externally or internally.
  • Ability to research, analyse, review data and develop a project plan or alter a project plan to deliver against overarching objectives, working collaboratively wit key stakeholders and or seeking feedback from clients.
  • Ability to manage and mentor, employees, students and/or volunteers in the delivery of a project and or service.
