Job summary

St Johns College, Dubbo (NSW) seeks a Youth Minister to support faith formation among Years 7–12 in a co‑educational setting. This temporary Part-time role (60 hours per fortnight) runs from 28 January 2027 to 20 December 2027.

The successful candidate will foster Gospel values and youth engagement across parish, school and wider community. The role emphasises collaboration with teachers, leadership in youth programs, and ministry with young people, contributing to a vibrant Catholic school

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated deep faith and a desire to share that faith with others, particularly young people.
  • Ability to facilitate outreach events and engage students in further formation beyond the school context.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work with teachers on implementing Religious Education Curriculum and catechesis.
  • Effective communication skills in all aspects of ministry with young people.
  • Sound organisational, coordination and implementation skills.
  • Worships regularly at a parish weekend mass.

Job description

Youth Minister | St Johns College, Dubbo
Co-educational, Years 7-12
Temporary Part-time Position, 60 hours per fortnight
Commencing: 28 January 2027 - 20 December 2027

About the Role

The core role of the Youth Minister is to assist in the animating of spirituality and faith formation of youth and promote attitudes based on Gospel values. The Youth Minister is to provide faith formation and leadership opportunities to youth within the Parish, school and throughout the broader community, as well as develop a strong sense of faith amongst youth, drawing them into, and allowing them to identify with, a nurturing and supportive faith community.

  • Worships regularly at a parish weekend mass.
