Overview

The Team Community Youth Justice Services (South) provides an assertive outreach model of practice, partnering with young people to improve outcomes. There is an exciting range of opportunities, working alongside passionate colleagues and stakeholders, within a holistic, child-centred framework.

About The Role

As part of a restorative justice practice framework and subject to the statutory provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1997, assess the complex risks and rehabilitative needs of young people referred by the police and the courts, participate in youth diversionary programs and case manage a caseload of identified clients on legal orders.

Essential
We are looking for:
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment.
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved Allied Health Professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.
  • Current Drivers Licence.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  • Conviction Checks In The Following Areas: crimes of violence, sex related offences, serious drug offences, crimes involving dishonesty, serious traffic offences
  • Identification check
  • Disciplinary actions in previous employment check
