Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Youth Worker to provide supervision and support to young people subject to a youth justice intervention. The role is supervised by the Program Coordinator/Team Coordinator and requires working within departmental policies and best practice.

You will engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, deliver core program components, maintain case records, participate in a multi-disciplinary team, and contribute to service response planning and safety

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support to young people subject to a youth justice intervention.
• Consult and negotiate with relevant stakeholders including other government and community agencies, service providers and families on behalf of young people to design, implement and enhance access to services.
• Provide supervision and culturally appropriate individual and family support to assist with compliance with bail, court orders and reintegration into the community.
• Participate and contribute as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team to achieve quality casework and case management outcomes.
• Develop and maintain knowledge relevant to the role, and participate in appropriate learning and development processes.
• Prepare and maintain accessible case records consistent with departmental case management requirements.
