Job summary

Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking a Team Leader Youth Development to guide a team delivering programs and initiatives for young people aged 12 to 25 in Hobsons Bay. You will drive inclusive services, build partnerships with schools and community groups, and ensure safe, high-quality programs across the municipality.

The role sits within the Youth Services leadership team, offering a pathway for growth and meaningful community impact through innovative youth work and program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Psychology, Recreation, Arts or related discipline.
• Significant experience leading teams within youth, community or human services.
• Knowledge of youth development principles and Child Safe Standards.
• Experience building partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong planning, budgeting, risk management and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team to deliver high-quality youth programs and services.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate youth programs, events and initiatives across the municipality.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, community organisations and local stakeholders.
• Ensure services operate safely, effectively and in line with youth work best practice and Child Safe Standards.
• Oversee budgets, grants, reporting, communications and continuous service improvement activities.
