Job summary

Randwick City Council is seeking a Youth Development Officer to promote inclusion, wellbeing and development of young people in Randwick and the eastern beaches of Sydney. You will develop, implement and promote youth-focused programs and events, aligning them with Council objectives and ensuring the voice of young people is reflected in program design.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in Youth Work or related fields, experience in community development and project management, and

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Social Sciences, Community Development, Health Promotion or related fields.
Experience in community development and capacity building with young people.

Responsibilities

Undertake planned, coordinated development of sustainable community initiatives to boost young people’s participation and wellbeing.
Develop, implement and promote youth-focused programs and events aligned with Council objectives, ensuring timelines and voice of young people are reflected.
Contribute to youth policies and strategies within local government, including strategic plans addressing youth needs and ambitions.
Collaborate with Council teams to improve outcomes for young people in policies, plans, programs and community events.
